Pedro Luis Silva graduated from the University of Toronto, in 1983, with a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education in Health and Exercise Sciences.
He is a Professional Certified Member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (USA) in which he is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, a Professional Certified Member of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiologists as a Certified Exercise Physiologist & Lifestyle Consultant and accredited as an Expert in the Assessment and Exercise Prescription for Special Populations by the same association. He is also qualified by the Kinesiotaping Association (International) to use kinesiotape for Fundamental and Advanced Corrective Techniques of the Neuromuscular and Lymphatic Systems as a Kinesiotaping Practitioner. He is furthermore both a Certified Thai Massage Practitioner and a Primal Reflex Release Practitioner (utilizing manual procedures that attempt to decrease undesirable effects of primal startle, withdrawal and joint protective reflexes that often accompany nociception and pain).
In the last 33 years, Pedro's work experiences have included Research Director at the University of Toronto, Kinesiologist and Clinical Director for a multi-disciplinary chronic pain management clinic, Director of Fitness and Program Development at private fitness facilities, as well as Consultant for private physiotherapy treatment centers in the development and implementation of Functional Capacity Assessments, Ergonomic Assessments, Job Site Analysis, Return to Work Programs and Customized Rehabilitation Programs.
Pedro is a private practitioner providing physical conditioning and lifestyle consulting to specific populations. His work focuses on improving quality of life in the post trauma population and on structured athletic development programs in basketball, soccer, golf, racquet sports, hockey, skiing/snowboarding, baseball, swimming, cycling and running. He is the Strength & Conditioning Coach/ Trainer for the Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Intercounty Team, and was the Strength / Conditioning/ Sports Nutrition and Muscle Recovery Specialist to Canadian Ultra-Marathon Cyclist Larry Optis during preparation and participation in Race across America, from Oceanside (California) to Atlantic City.
Pedro works with individuals across the age span. His work is dedicated to rehabilitation and lifestyle consulting relative to chronic pain, neuromuscular and metabolic disorders.
